History
Since 1952, Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue has provided the young people of our community with something they need and want most:  a safe environment where adults respect and listen to them; a place where they can have fun.  At Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue, members are encouraged to be themselves as they participate in interesting, constructive activities that channel youthful energy into challenging pursuits.  We proved prevention-focused programming for youth, ages 2 ½ - 19, within 5 core program areas adopted by Boys & Girls Clubs of America:

Character and Leadership Development
Sports, Fitness, Recreation
The Arts
Education and Career Development
Health and Life Skills

A well proven, nationally designed ‘youth development strategy’ is integrated into all programming by well-trained, professional staff who serve as positive role models.

Since 1995, Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue has expanded from one location in downtown Bellevue, to 11 Clubs throughout the city.  Much of this growth follows our targeted outreach efforts to provide services to every local child.  Much of this is done through valuable partnerships with organizations including the City of Bellevue, Bellevue School District, Bellevue Police Department, King County Housing Authority, Youth Eastside Services and many others.

Since 1995, Club membership has increased from 3,800 to over 7,500 registered members with an additional 4,000 teens being served annually.  Through these members, the Club provides programs for more than half the school age population of Bellevue.

The Club currently operates 11 sites within the City of Bellevue the Main Clubhouse, and Teen Center located in downtown Bellevue; three Clubs in public housing, Eastside Terrace, Hidden Village, Spiritwood Manor; five school sites, Ardmore,c Cherry Crest, Bennett, Phantom Lake and Stevenson Elementary Schools; and the South Bellevue Community Center, a unique partnership with the City of Bellevue.

The Club continues to explore new avenues of outreach and is currently exploring relocation, or renovation of the Main Clubhouse.
