What does a typical day at camp look like?

Youth have the opportunity to participate in staff-led choice activities throughout the facility. 

9:30 am – 10:00 am

Round Up

Youth gather and meet camp staff! They will learn about events for the week, and play a group game and break up into their camp groups!

10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Program

Youth participate in engaging activites based on a the weekly theme including tech, arts and crafts, movement, social recreation, and more! Youth are divided into groups with others similar to their age group.

    Lunch takes place between the hours of 11:00-1:00.
    Snack will be served between the hours of 2:30-4:00.

4:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Sunset Camp

Youth have the opportunity to participate in staff-led choice activities throughout the facility.
Additional registration is required.

 

 

 

What to bring to camp daily?
A labeled water bottle, a lunch that does not require refrigeration or microwaving and sunscreen, if you see fit. There will be days that members will be encouraged to bring specific items if participating in certain camp themed days throughout the summer that you will be notified of ahead of time via email. On the first day of camp, you will review and sign a Medical Form.
How do I check my child into camp daily?
You will escort your child to the check in desk at your camp location, locate their name on the registration specific to their camp and write their arrival time. There will be a few paperword items to be completed on your first day of camp.
What if my child needs to come late or leave early & return?
You may drop off an pick up at anytime during the camp session in which your child is registered. Doors open at 8:00 am, camp specific activities typically begin at 9:30 am. For travel camp, youth must be checked in by 9:30 am each day to be ready for field trips. There is NO in-Club alternative if your child cannot attend the full-day field trip or show up after the group has left the facility.
How do I contact my child?
Your child will be busy throguhout the day during Summer Camp! If you need to reach your child, you may contact the site directly or call the Downtown Clubhouse, (425) 454-6162, to transfer your call to the appropriate location. Site phone numbers are listed on our website and will be provided in welcome emails to those registered.
What is the youth to adult ratio?
The youth to adult ratio is 20:1.
Will my child be in a group with similar aged children?
Yes, all the children are grouped according to their age within their specific camp.
Are there any food restrictions?
We ask families and youth to be allergy aware, however, there are no Club restricted foods. Youth muct bring a snack or lunch that does not require refrigeration or reheating.
What is the policy around sunscreen?
You may store your child’s sunscreen at their camp location and your child will need to self-apply it as needed with supervision. Any time youth will be in the sun longer than 30 minutes they will be encouraged to apply sunscreen. Be sure to label your home provided sunscreen.
What are your screen time limits?
The Club’s Screen time Policy allows for 45 minutes per day of educational and age-appropriate screen time. No screen time is allowed during meals and snacks. Youth are only allowed to visit websites listed on our Cyber–Safe Websites page. If movies are planned, they will be G rated or parent permission will be required. An alternate activity will be available for those not watching the movie.
What happens if my child loses an item?
We are not responsible for lost or damaged items from home. Please help us by labeling everything with your child’s name and leaving valuables at home. Stray clothing and items will be placed in the lost and found area each day. Unclaimed clothing and items are donated to charity. Please check with your Club for donation dates.
What if my child has a special diet or medical needs?
Any information pertaining to diet or medical needs must be communicated to the Site Director at your camp location so that we may assist within our capacity. A medication authoirization form is required for staff to administer medications during Club time.
What if my child struggles with accidents?
For safety purposes, Boys & Girls Clubs staff do not support any youth while they are using the bathroom. All youth must be able to use the bathroom independently. This includes those attending our Pre-K programs. We encourage families to provide additional clothing in case of an incident. Families may be called to pick up early following a bathroom accident.
Does my child have to participate in each spirit week?
No, spirit week participation is completely optional and only created to engage the participants.
What is the cost for each camp?
Camps are available to register on a weekly basis June 24-August 23, 2024. Camp costs vary by location and activitey beginning at $325 /week. Preschool camp will be grouped into 2-weeks sessions at $650 /session, the last session is 1 week at $325 for the week.
Are there extended summer camp hours available?
Sunset Camp is offered Monday-Friday 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Cost for Sunset Camp is $30.00 /week. There are no extended hours available for preschool.
Are there scholarships available for Summer Camp?
Scholarships are available based on household income. Find more information and submit an application by visiting www.bgcbellevue.org/Programs/Scholarships or call the Downtown Clubhouse at (425) 454-6162.
How do I transfer my child’s camp enrollment?
Visit the transfer and withdrawals page to submit a request.
What is the waitlist process & do I have to pay for the camp while on the waitlist?
You can add your child to any of our camp waitlists and you will not be charged until they have been accepted into the camp. As soon as a spot has become available, the Site Director will reaach out via email and phone call to confirm you are still interested in attending. If enrolling into the program 2 weeks before the camp start date, payment will be due immediately.
How can I pay my balance?
You can make payments through our online parent portal at www.bgcbellevue.org/ParentPortal, via phone at (425) 454-6162, in person or by mail to our Downtown Clubhouse at 209 100th Ave NE, Bellevue 98004. 
Are refunds available?
Refund requests made at least two (2) weeks before the start of camp, a full refund will be issued minus a $25 processing fee. For refund requests made less than two (2) weeks before the start of camp, a refund of 50% will be issued. No refunds will be issued once camp begins. Membership fees are non-refundable. Refunds may be added to your Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue account to use towards a future program or sent to your address in check form.
